PANAMA
CITY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - The Glenwood Community Center was given a fishy treat
Friday afternoon.
The
Knights Of Pythias cooked up a free fish-fry lunch to not just senior center
members but they extended the invitation to four local churches.
Kenneth
Brown, a Panama City Commissioner and member of the group, said many years ago
they used to feed the senior center but it stopped for multiple reasons.
Now that
they have the means and the funds, they said they couldn't be happier to bring
it back.
"The
idea was not to pick up the food and go home, you're supposed to have
camaraderie with the senior citizens of this establishment," said Brown.
"But we've got some more fine tuning to do to make sure everyone knows
what it's about."
Brown
said the "Knights of Pythias have now adopted the Glenwood Center and will
host free lunches as frequent as possible.
