"Fill the Truck" donation collection in Rocky Mount for West Virginia

ROCKY MOUNT, Va. (WDBJ7) A Franklin County man is collecting donations for West Virginia flood victims in Rocky Mount. collected in Rocky Mount.

 The goal is to pack a 40-foot box truck full of supplies and donations bound for West Virginia.

The truck is in the parking lot of Roses Department store.

If it gets filled, a second truck is on stand by.

They will be taken to Greenbrier Resort's Performance Center Sunday morning.

“Some of the people lost everything and even more tragic there was a lot of people that lost their lives and that can't be replaced but we can try to give a little bit of hope and do what we can,” said organizer David Reel.

Boxed fans, extension cords, pet supplies, feminine products, and liquid-diet drinks such as Ensure are still needed.

Donations will be collected until 8:00 p.m. Saturday July 2nd.

But Reel says they'll continue to take donations until people stop dropping them off.
